How Importance is Calculated

Tasks are sorted based on a calculated importance score that considers:

• Priority: Immediate (100 points), High (40 points), Medium (20 points), Low (10 points)
• Immediate Priority: Always shown at the top, sorted by creation date
• Task Age: Priority increases automatically every 20 days (Low → Medium → High)
• Age Bonus for High Priority: +2 points per week of age (up to +20 points maximum)
• Due Date/Time:
  • Overdue: 70 points
  • Due within 8 hours: 50 points
  • Due within 16 hours: 40 points
  • Due within 24 hours: 30 points
  • Due within 48 hours: 20 points
  • Due later: 10 points
• Time Buffer Ratio: Compares due time with estimated completion time
  • Critical (ratio ≤ 1.0): +70 points (same as overdue)
  • Very tight deadline (ratio ≤ 1.2): +60 points
  • Tight deadline (ratio ≤ 1.5): +50 points
  • Limited buffer (ratio ≤ 2.0): +40 points
  • Moderate buffer (ratio ≤ 3.0): +30 points
  • Comfortable buffer (ratio ≤ 5.0): +20 points
  • Plenty of time (ratio > 5.0): +10 points
• Suggested Tasks: Tasks due today with less than 4 hours estimated duration may be marked as "Suggested" when there are no overdue or immediate tasks

Completed tasks always appear at the bottom of the list.
